Jonathan ‘Jiffy’ Davies’ Cancer Charity Golf Day at the spectacular Langland Golf Club proved to be an unforgettable occasion, combining first-class golf with heartfelt purpose in support of Velindre Cancer Centre and Swansea Bay Health Charity.
The 2024 season came to a spectacular close with the Captain Pirates Charity Golf Day on September 6 at Pontypool Golf Club. The day began with typhoon-like conditions, but as if by magic, the weather cleared, leaving calm skies and perfect golfing conditions. A huge thank you to the greenskeepers, who worked wonders in ensuring the course was in top shape for the event.
Sean Holley’s 7th Annual Charity Golf Day took place on a glorious sunny day at the Grove Golf Club, with golfers enjoying the fantastic weather while supporting two causes very close to Sean's heart—Velindre Cancer Centre and Tata Steel Juniors Cricket Section. The event kicked off in style with Sean himself sounding the starting klaxon from the balcony, setting the tone for what would be a memorable day.
The much-anticipated WPBSA Players Golf Day finally arrived in 2024, and it exceeded all expectations. Held at the stunning Forest of Arden, the event brought together a stellar cast of snooker legends, including the likes of Barry Hearn, Shaun Murphy, John Parrot, Ken Doherty, and Jackson Page. The event was the brainchild of Neil Tompkins, and it was a true pleasure for Great Days Golf to help bring his vision to life.
The stunning backdrop of Cardigan Golf Club set the stage for the Ifan Phillips Golf Day, an event close to the hearts of all involved with Great Days Golf. Held to raise funds for Ifan Phillips, who tragically lost his leg in an accident, the day was filled with a spirit of camaraderie and support. Ifan himself was in attendance, along with his family, and his upbeat attitude truly inspired everyone on the course.
The 2024 Jason Bowen MND Cup, held on July 24 at the stunning Pyle and Kenfig Golf Club, was one of the most star-studded and cherished events on the Great Days Golf calendar. This annual gathering of sporting legends brought together an incredible lineup of talent, all in support of a cause that is close to the heart of everyone involved with Great Days Golf—helping Jason Bowen and his family as they navigate his battle with Motor Neurone Disease.
On June 28, 2024, Great Days Golf hosted the highly anticipated Singles Open at the beautiful Grove Golf Club. This special event saw golfers vying for the prestigious Gold Jacket, and the competition did not disappoint. The headline sponsor for the day was the fantastic David Spear Commercial Vehicles, long-time supporters of Great Days Golf. Partnering with Tarw Sports, they provided every golfer with a unique goodie bag in the form of stylish boot bags, ensuring the day started on a high note.
Our third event of 2024 was for a much valued friend and client of Great Days Golf, Rhys James and his father, Carl. As a company and individuals we have supported Rhys’s fundraising efforts for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust over the last few years. This year the guys decided that they would like us to help organise and run a golf day for them and we were more than happy to help.
Great Days Golf tee’d off its first event on home soil of 2024 at the wonderful Machynys Peninsula Golf Resort and Spa.
After a week of terrible weather the clouds finally cleared and the sun shined on the wonderful Monmouthshire GC for the 3rd running of the Mike Jones Charity Golf Day.
On July 27th on the National Course at the splendid Vale Resort , Rugby and Football Legends came to together to compete for the inaugural Jason Bowen MND Cup.
On a Wednesday afternoon in mid July the wind blew, the rain fell and golfers headed to Pontypool GC to celebrate 120 years since its inception.
July 7th 2023 will be a date long remembered by Cardigan GC and its members, as Great Days Golf hosted the first Ifan Phillips Charity Golf Day at their prestigious Club.
June 16th 2023 saw the first ever Great Days Golf Singles Open at The Grove Golf Club in Porthcawl. 92 golfers gathered to play 18 holes and compete for the now coveted ‘Gold’ Jacket and trophy with the day sponsored by Premium Partner RNA Plant Ltd and owner Neil Armstrong.
Great Days Golf teamed up with Bouygues UK once again in May for the 2nd Annual Bouygues UK Charity Golf Day in support of the charity Llamau, at the Vale Resort in Hensol.
The 19th of April 2023 saw Great Days Golf host the 2nd Annual Ty Hafan Charity Golf Day at the Vale Resort.
The Great Days Golf Masters Finale event held at St Pierre in April proved to be a huge success, a repeat of last year’s equally impressive occasion.
Great Days Golf took a group of golfers to Partner Club Cumberwell Park GC near Bath for the second successive year, on a golfing Away Day supported by Davey Travel.
The Mike Jones Charity Golf Day at Bryn Meadows Golf and Spa Hotel was held by Great Days Golf in July, and in support of the European Disabled Golf Association (EDGA).
Great Days Golf staged the annual MJW Memorial Classic in memory of the late Matthew J Watkins in May, the 2nd such event that has now been firmly cemented in the events calender and once again proved to be a huge success.
