Great Days Golf was recently commissioned by major UK building developers Bouygues UK to run a charity golf day at the Vale Resort, Hensol in support of two worthy Welsh-based charities – Llamau and Thrive, Womens Aid.
Bouygues UK are an innovative business with a diverse workforce which underpins how they approach their extensive project portfolio. The company focuses on sectors where it is particularly well-positioned to add value through its technical expertise, skills and experience, drawing on the talents of the wider global Bouygues Group where relevant.
Teams from all over Wales and the South West of England convened at the Vale Resort, training home of Welsh Rugby, to play the superbly conditioned National Course and enjoy a competitive day which saw former World snooker Champion Mark William and Rugby legend Jonathan Davies compete in teams for an extensive range of prizes including Valley Mill Welsh slate trophies and top of the range golf accessories from Srixon Europe.
The GDG team along with partners Competition Golf, Buffoon Film & Media, Riley Sports Photography, Golf Day Printing and ND John Wine took care of all the logistics and running of the day to provide clients with an all together amazing experience that raised extensive funds for the chosen charities.
There were also some novelty holes including GDG’s exclusive ‘Beat The Pirate’ Challenge which sees players pit their wits against GDG’s very own Disabled Golfer and EDGA/Legends Tour regular Mike ‘Captain Pirate’ Jones on a Par 3 nearest the pin competition.
Donna Griffiths, Bouygues UK’s Business Development Manager, Wales commented :
“Everyone enjoyed a fantastic day at our inaugural Charity Golf Day at the Vale which was superbly organised and run by Great Days Golf. We look forward to running this event again in May 2023 in conjunction with GDG and we will certainly look to add an additional event in our South West Region. I’d like to thank the charities for attending the day and everyone who contributed to raising money to support them and for entering teams. Congratulations to all the worthy winners”.
