It was a GDG first as we proudly hosted the Scarlets Community Foundation Golf Day at a familiar favourite, Machynys Peninsula Golf Club. With its award-winning Nicklaus Championship course, Machynys provided the perfect setting and a five-star experience for all, despite the strong winds testing every golfer.
The day brought together current and former Scarlets players, coaches, foundation members, and rugby legend Jonathan 'Jiffy' Davies, all adding to the atmosphere both on and off the course. Our usual mix of on-course activities was back, with a special twist: "Hammer the Holley" saw Sean Holley take on golfers in a nearest-the-pin challenge on the stunning 17th.
This was a day of fun and fundraising with plenty raised for the Scarlets Community Foundation, which promotes community participation in sport, supports youth education, and champions health and wellbeing through workshops and talks across the Scarlets region.
A special mention goes to Jiffy for delivering a brilliant and hilarious post-golf Q&A, sharing stories from his round, reflecting on his time with the Scarlets, and offering his thoughts on the Lions' upcoming tour to Australia.
