After a week of terrible weather the clouds finally cleared and the sun shined on the wonderful Monmouthshire GC for the 3rd running of the Mike Jones Charity Golf Day.
Great Days Golf Director Mike is passionate about raising awareness of the sport he loves and often says that “golf saved my life”.
A huge part of that is an organisation called EDGA (European Disabled Golf Association) www.edga.com. EDGA are a voluntary organisation that run disabled golf events around the world for players with a disability.
EDGA president Dr Tony Bennet was present to not only play but to give an insight into how important these events are for raising much needed funds for the organisation.
Our headline sponsor for the day were Sinclair and their incredible support of the event was greatly appreciated by everyone in attendance.

The competition itself was well contended and with the scoring looked after by our partners GD scoring and each team having their own hand held device the teams could just enjoy their day without the complications of filling out scorecards.
The incredible prizes provided as always by Srixon were a main talking point amongst the returning golfers.
