On July 27th on the National Course at the splendid Vale Resort , Rugby and Football Legends came to together to compete for the inaugural Jason Bowen MND Cup.

The 22 Celebs (11 football and 11 Rugby) joined their amateur playing partners on this special day to play for the cup but more importantly to help raise money to support Jason and his family.

Since Jasons diagnosis with MND he has been a beacon of positivity and Great Days Golf wanted to support him by  hosting and running this very special day.

There was also an incredible prize of a car for a hole in one the 14th provided by Nathaniel MG. Unfortunately there were no winners but a few came very close to driving off with this super prize. Rob Earnshaw the ex Cardiff City legend came close when his shot just trickle past the hole.

Many of Great Days Golf premium partners were present and as always these events could not take place without them. If you would like to discuss becoming a premium partner and becoming part of our rapidly expanding family get in touch with Sean Holley at Sean@greatdaysgolf.com

As the teams returned to the Clubhouse for the fantastic meal laid on by the Vale Resort there was the special and emotional Q&A hosted by Great Days Golf very own Sean Holley. Sean said himself “ it was one of the most emotional Q&As I’ve ever hosted “ There were lots of high praise for Jason from his former teammates Joe Ledley, Danny Gabbidon , Dean Saunders and Scott Young. Some of the stories these legends of the game came out with were both inspiring and totally entertaining with all the guests left hanging on every word.

It's important to remember that Wales is a special country with the Rugby and Football communities and players working together. This was evident with the turnout of Rugby legends including Craig Quinell, Tom Shanklin, Rhys Priestland and former Wales coach Mike Ruddock.

The team winners picked up some incredible prizes donated by Great Days Golf Partner Srixon Golf Europe.

The final part of the day was the presentation of the Jason Bowen Cup with the winners being decided by totalling all the Rugby teams scores and all the Football teams scores and the scores couldn’t have been closer. Rugby were victorious by 0.4 of a point!
