Great Days Golf teamed up with Bouygues UK once again in May for the 2nd Annual Bouygues UK Charity Golf Day in support of the charity Llamau, at the Vale Resort in Hensol.
96 golfers from businesses across Wales and the South West gathered to try and win some superb prizes provided by Srixon Europe at the challenging National Course. There were prizes for the top 3 teams with the two best scores counting in a Stableford format. There were also individual accolades up for grabs with Best Nett and Gross winners as well as a range of on course competitions.
The day though as always is aimed at bringing a network of businesses together that enjoy golf and a chance to network with like-minded people in some great surroundings.
Great Days Golf were able to welcome golfing celebrities in the form of former British & Irish Lions rugby full back Lee Byrne as well as Wales’ best comedian and Royal Variety performer Rod Woodward.
Following the golf and a hearty meal, entertainment was provided in the form of an informative Q&A by Director and broadcaster Sean Holley with fellow TV presenter Lauren Jenkins and former Wales rugby captain Ryan Jones.
Bouygues UK are an innovative business with a diverse workforce which underpins how they approach their extensive project portfolio. The company focuses on sectors where it is particularly well-positioned to add value through its technical expertise, skills and experience, drawing on the talents of the wider global Bouygues Group where relevant.
Donna Griffiths, Business Development Manager, commented about the day: “This is the second annual Charity Golf day Bouygues UK have organised with Great Days Golf and are already planning the next one together for 2024. I have found Great Days Golf user friendly, accommodating, and flexible in their approach to meeting our requirements. The booking system was simple and the day sold our really quickly. The event was fantastically well organised helping us to network with Industry colleagues whilst also raising much needed funds for our chosen charity. Thanks to Simon and Sean, great to be working with you.”
A charity auction was conducted to raise much needed funds for Welsh based charity Llamau. Their mission is to eradicate homelessness for young people and vulnerable women. Llamau recognises that for thousands of the most vulnerable people in Wales, homelessness is a frightening reality and some great auction items were provided by both Bouygues UK and GDG to support the cause. GDG Premium Partners turned out in force including RNA Plant Ltd, Sealability Ltd and R Lewis & Co Ltd.
GDG Director Simon Pridham summarised the impact of the day for all concerned: “We have a strong relationship with Bouygues and much like last year today has been a tremendous all round success. The network the day has created has been very conducive for business but not only that everyone has really enjoyed themselves and we have supported a great cause in the process. This is what Great Days Golf are about as a company and we are already making plans for the 3rd Annual Bouygues UK Charity Golf Day for next year. A huge thank you goes to Donna Griffiths who has helped drive this years event and made it what it is.”
