Jonathan ‘Jiffy’ Davies’ Cancer Charity Golf Day at the spectacular Langland Golf Club proved to be an unforgettable occasion, combining first-class golf with heartfelt purpose in support of Velindre Cancer Centre and Swansea Bay Health Charity.
Held under clear blue skies on one of the most picturesque courses in Wales, the event was a sell-out months in advance — and it didn’t disappoint. With stunning sea views and an atmosphere to match, the day brought together golfers, celebrities, and supporters to raise vital funds for two causes close to Jiffy’s heart.
The competition was tight, but it was Tom Shanklin’s team who took home the honours, edging out a strong field that included former Swansea City manager Steve Cooper and a host of Welsh sporting legends. Among the standout features was the Beat the Pro Challenge, where we saw the debut of our GDG Travel Ambassador Jake Hapgood, who made an instant impact on the tee.
The event also saw an impressive turnout from the women’s game, with nine female golfers taking part and enjoying every moment — a brilliant reflection of the inclusive community that Great Days Golf is proud to foster.
Off the course, the generosity of attendees truly shone through. With a fantastic charity auction and entertainment led by Jiffy himself, the day raised over £6,800 — a phenomenal total that will go directly to both Velindre and Swansea Bay Health Charity.
This was more than a golf day — it was a celebration of community, generosity, and the power of sport to bring people together for a cause that matters. Thank you to everyone who played their part. We’ll see you next year.
